KONG: the biological possibilityOrigin: skull island itself is off the coast of Sumatra according to all 3 movies however due to the fact large dinosaurs already inhabited the island would cause kongs ancestors serious problems, so more likely kongs species managed to land on an island close by skull island and started their evolution into giants on that island and the most likely way for that to happen would be via floating logs after a massive tsunami. A land bridge would have its problems being the fact that other animals would simply cause original problems such as predation of both young and adults. For a species to gain insular gigantism they would require a lack of predators. Large males of the primate family do not rush to the tree’s when theirs danger so they may not have made it however young males, babies and females pregnant or otherwise would instinctively do so and become the founding population for kongs species. For starters, after 2 viewings so far, this is by far, bar NONE, my 4th fave Godzilla film (GMK, Return of Godzilla, and Gojira are above this but this movie is slowly overtaking GMK), and I have many reasons for putting it where it is in the long 60 year history of the big guy.
Now, I'll try to be as spoiler-free as possible, since there are still people who have yet to see it.
The acting is top notch in this film, miles better than G98 (only comparing because this is the only other naturally english speaking Godzilla movie, but to be fair Captain Gordon/Don Frye did about as good performance as anyone in G2014), however I do understand where the criticism comes from, especially with Aaron Taylor Johnson. However, like most people who like to defend his performance, I'd like to counter argument saying he IS supposed to be a hard trained soldier who went through a lot of emotional pain in his childhood, and in a lot of emotional scenes he DOES visibly look like he's
